Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, including:

• Account details such as your name, email address, and password or passkey credentials.
• Monitor configuration such as URLs, hostnames, ports, keywords, and related check settings.
• Notification channel details such as email addresses, chat webhook URLs, bot tokens, and similar integration credentials you choose to store.
• Team membership and invitation information when you collaborate with others.
• Billing-related account identifiers we need to associate your subscription with your user (for example customer or subscription IDs from our payment partner). We do not store full payment card numbers on Checkeroni servers.

We also collect technical data generated by the Service, including check results, response times, incident history, status page views, and basic server logs needed to operate and secure the platform.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• Run monitor checks and deliver alerts through your configured notification channels.
• Display uptime data, incidents, and public status pages you configure.
• Manage free and paid plan entitlements and subscriptions.
• Communicate with you about your account, security, billing, and service-related updates.
• Detect abuse, prevent fraud, and protect the security of the Service.

Payments and Creem

Paid plans are sold and processed by Creem as Merchant of Record. When you check out or manage billing:

• Payment details (such as card data) are collected and processed by Creem, not stored as full card numbers in our application database.
• Creem may process personal data needed for payments, invoices, tax compliance, fraud prevention, refunds, and chargebacks.
• We may receive limited billing metadata from Creem (for example that a subscription is active, product identifiers, and customer references) so we can unlock paid features on your account.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with service providers that help us operate the Service, including:

• Hosting and infrastructure providers
• Email delivery providers
• Payment and Merchant of Record services (Creem)
• Optional third-party notification platforms you connect (for example Slack, Discord, PagerDuty), only as needed to deliver the alerts you configure

We share data only as needed to provide the Service, to comply with law, or to protect the Service and our users, and subject to appropriate safeguards where required.

Public status pages may display monitor names, uptime statistics, and incident information according to the settings you choose.

International transfers

We and our providers may process data in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers. Creem may also process payment-related data in jurisdictions where it and its partners operate.

Data retention

We retain account and monitor data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Check history and incident data may be retained for operational and analytical purposes and pruned over time according to our data retention practices. Billing records held by Creem may be retained according to Creem's policies and legal obligations (for example tax and accounting rules).

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to object to certain processing. You can update much of your account information from your profile settings. To make other requests, contact us at checkeroni@vblinden.dev. For payment records controlled by Creem, we may need to coordinate with Creem or direct you to their support channels.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. If you discover a security issue, please report it to checkeroni@vblinden.dev.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
